Cideng River on Jalan Kuningan Mulia Dredged from Waste

Some 200 personnel conducted dredging and cleaning of waste in the Cideng River on Jalan Kuningan Mulia, Karet Urban Village, Setiabudi, Thursday (5/15). It was directly led by South Jakarta Mayor, Muhammad Anwar.

According to him, the dredging and cleaning of the Cideng River area along one kilometer with 10 meters wide and one meter deep is conducted to anticipate flooding due to overflow water from the river.
"We aim to reduce flooding in this area by 25 percent, including on Jalan Denpasar, which can rise up to 40 centimeters, and we can manage it well," he explained.

"We are targeting to anchor 10,000 cubic meters of mud and transport it to the Rawa Minyak warehouse to be disposed of in Ancol," he explained.
The work above received appreciation from one of the residents, Nasrawi (48).
He hoped that it could minimize flooding when it rains.
"When it rains heavily, I worry about the overflow of water from the Cideng River. Hopefully, it won't occur again after the work," he closed.
